I spent 15 years in military service—8 years in the Marine Corps with deployment to Desert Shield/Desert Storm, followed by commissioning as an Army National Guard Infantry Officer. The military taught me what most leaders never learn: you don't win by working harder; you win by thinking strategically.
Those principles became the foundation of how I lead in schools.
My Journey in Education
After leaving the military, I spent 7 years as an Assistant Principal, learning the operational side of school leadership. Then I became a principal—and over 12 years across elementary, middle, and high school, I led schools through enrollment crises, union conflicts, culture turnarounds, and high-stakes accountability.
I saw the same pattern everywhere: Principals weren't struggling because they didn't care—they were struggling because they were reacting instead of planning.
What I Believe
Strategic planning beats reactive firefighting
Systems build stability—heroics burn people out
Strong alliances move a school faster than authority
The best leaders win before the battle starts
My mission is simple: Help principals lead strategically, not emotionally or reactively.
Why I Coach
Too many principals are drowning—working 70-hour weeks, fighting every fire, and wondering why nothing ever improves. Strategic Ed Leadership exists to help you think differently.
I provide the strategic frameworks, practical systems, and command presence coaching that help principals lead with clarity—without burning out. Whether you're in your first year or you're a veteran leader navigating new challenges, I help you build sustainable leadership that actually works.
